Keeping the dancefloor moving...
Things have come a long way for UK based open format DJ LKP. Progressing from back room sets playing garage and hip hop, to opening main stages at festivals with the wonderful Big Beat Bronson, its been a canny journey, as he would say himself.
After first picking up the DJing bug at around age 14, LKP (formerly Lil Kriss P in the late 90s /early 00's when having a Lil preceding your name was the norm) is now one of Newcastle's most in demand DJs and occasional vocalists, with residencies in clubs across the North East. He has spun at clubs round the country, and has also been lucky enough to spin internationally in Hong Kong and Lithuania.
LKP has spun at events for brands such as Twice as Nice, Nike, MTV Base, L'Oreal, SoleHeaven and a whole host more, completing mixes for Karmaloop and 303 Clothing, and played at and curated other DJs together for urbannightfeast, a vastly successful street food festival. He has also shared the bill with international names such as Diplo, and warmed up proceedings for acts as diverse as Grandmaster Flash, Shy FX, Harry Love, MistaJam, Chris Goldfinger and B.Traits.
As a vocalist, LKP has had tracks appear on acclaimed DnB label, Renegade Hardware. He has opened for Montell Jordan, and appeared on BBC 1Xtra, Radio 1, Rinse FM and Kiss to name a few.
As tour DJ for Baron Von Alias and now part of Big Beat Bronson, LKP has performed at T in The Park, Secret Garden Party, Radio 1's Big Weekend and Evolution, sharing the bill with international megastars such as Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters and Snoop Dogg.
'I always try to blend something of the old with something of the new, and I aspire to be like my favourite DJs who have gone on to rock parties across the globe for a variety of clients. Every room and every crowd can present a different challenge, and thats one thing I love about this job."
